The Symbols Pallet provides additional support for teaching literacy.

In the second and third rows, Punctuation Marks and other symbols on modern keypads are used to clarify and comprehend written language.

Praise tiles are emojis used for encouragement and motivation. This section has fun images and uplifting phrases to reward hard work. They may be used to track progress on daily plans, or markers for games. There are many ways that these incentive tiles may be used.

7 Syllable Types

Hand emoji’s in the first row are used to represent syllable types, correlating with the syllable label tiles in the final row.

Teaching Syllable Types and patterns is a crucial component of a comprehensive reading program. It empowers students to become more independent and confident readers.

Learning the different syllable types helps students analyze words making it easier to decode unfamiliar ones.

Recognizing the common patterns will not only improve their reading skills but will also help students to be better spellers.

Knowing syllable types will help students predict the sound a vowel will make.

Understanding syllable types makes decoding and encoding more efficient.
